This is what it looks like to be a woman over 40 who weight trains.


Getting “toned” is all about losing fat and building muscle, and this applies to everyone, whether you’re over 40 or not. Many women fear that lifting heavy will make them look bulky or masculine. 

 

But here’s the truth: Women don’t have enough testosterone to bulk up like men. Instead, lifting heavy weights helps you build strong, lean muscles that shape and tone your body. Tiny dumbbells and endless leg lifts won’t give you the results you want. To truly transform your body, you need to challenge your muscles with heavier weights, just like the guys do.

 

You can't build a perkier, rounder, sexier anything without building muscle! And remember, when you build muscle through weight training, you burn more fat!​ Lifting weights, heavy weights is the key to losing fat, building muscle, and feeling great—no matter your age.
